Image Alignment

Hey, I am new to WordPress, I was actually making a website for my dad’s business. Currently, its locally stored on my mac. I am having a problem aligning the image I want with the text. For example, I basically want to have a list and a picture next to that list. When I insert the picture and click the “right” alignment option for the picture, the picture does go to the right but not next to text. It goes to the bottom right. I really need help with this because none of my pictures are aligning properly. I am not that verbal in coding, though I do have some basic skills. Thanks
