Image Alignment in Twenty Ten

Hi! I am using the Twenty Ten theme and I can’t seem to insert two images next to each other in a post (one aligned to the left and one aligned to the right). Even when the images are definitely small enough that they would be able to fit side-by-side, they end up staggering so that the second image I insert is fully below the bottom edge of the first inserted image. I didn’t have this problem before I updated to 3.0.1, so I’m wondering if it’s something about the update or with the Twenty Ten theme. I don’t have any examples of the problem on the blog (www.uscarchery.com) since I think it’s really unsightly so I’ve just been inserting galleries so that my posts aren’t a million miles long whenever I insert photos. I am really new to managing a blog and have no experience with websites so any insight that I can get on this issue would be much appreciated!
