    Greetings,

since some time, I get the message: Image alts have no keywords. But I do have the images in my posts with alt text. Several weeks (maybe months?) ago it did work. Now, even when I go back to my old posts, it says ‘Image alts have no keywords’.

I don’t know if it’s only the message that is wrong or there is something else going on. If it’s only the message, then I could live with it ??

    Regards,
    Lal

Hey there @lalwende really sorry for the inconvenience on this one.

I was wondering if you noticed this issue after a recent update or after installing a plugin or updating any plugin or theme?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Regards,

    Jorge

I’m sorry I can’t give you a definite answer. Since quite a long time the plugin was working when it wanted (often not showing everything and I had to refresh a few times) so I stopped checking it meticulously. But recently I decided to refresh it until it would show all the options and then I saw that message about Image alts. As my website is mostly about images I was always applying the alt text and was surprised when I saw the message. I checked my pictures and they all had alt texts.

So back to your question – since I can’t give a straight answer, I can only say that WP, plugins and themes (although I don’t think the theme I am using) were updated at some point.

    Hello @lalwende

    I hope you’re doing well!

Just to clarify, is the message is showing up in the SEO Checkup? I’ve checked your site with the WP Checkup that is the same tool as the SEO Checkup that Smartcrawl uses and the report for Image Alt came out clean

Are there any cache plugins active on your site? If yes, please clear site’s cache. Also please see if on your server varnish or object cache are enabled, if yes, please purge the cache.

If the issue still persists false-positive message may coming from an installed plugin. Please run a test for a conflict, deactivate all the plugins besides Smartcrawl and see if the message is still showing. If all is well, start activating one plugin at a time, testing each time the SEO report, until you will find the plugin that causes this.

Just in case, please run a backup of your site before running this test.

Let us know how it went!

    Kind regards,
    Nastia
