Image aspect ratio and resolution

I’m experiencing two basic issues with this plug-in:

1. The Aspect Ratio of the pictures I’ve added to my slider is coming out as 1:1 (Square). The images themselves are not square. Could you please explain to me where I can fix this? Or clarify if the slider is best suited for a specific resolution/aspect ratio of images?

2. The images are loading on the page with very poor resolution, even though the original images selected in the slider are high-res. I would appreciate if you can tell me how I can fix this in the settings.
