I’ve just noticed this as I’m prepping a site for launch.

Love this plugin and it has taken over as my fist choice but there seems to be a conflict with Woothemes Canvas (my preferred framework).

For testing – clean WP 3.8 install and vanilla Canvas theme (5.5.7 – latest). No active plugins.

On the surface everything works as it should – the problem occurs when you view an image attachment (ie media library / click view link under image thumbnail).

Rather than just displaying the image embedded in the content area of the page it is attached to the image also displays wherever a Content Block has been used in a widget area resulting in multiple images rendering and breaking the layout.

That is – if I have used a Content Block in the primary sidebar the image renders there as well as in the content area as it should.

Examining the html rendered in the widget shoes that a Paragraph with the class “attachment” has been added immediately below the opening custom_post_widget div tag.

    Any ideas? Many Thanks.

“Do not apply content filters” option on widget settings resolves this. What does this option do?

Problem with “Do not apply content filters” option is that it strips out all paragraph formatting!

Author – any advice on this issue? Woothemes Canvas is massively popular “framework” and this is a big problem for me with your otherwise top of the class plugin.

I will contact Woo support with this if I can get an idea of the root of the issue (otherwise they will just bounce me back to you).

    Thanks.

    Hi M One,

I haven’t seen this issue before but guess this might have to do with how WordPress attachment pages work.

Have you tried if this also happens when you use one of the default WordPress themes such as 2013?

Default themes fine – just Canvas. But this is a hugely popular framework and worth supporting (imho). If it helps will try to get a vanilla installation online for you to look at.

I think it would be best if you first contact Woothemes about this as nobody has ever reported this issue before.

If it is working on the default theme there must be something that the Canvas theme does differently on the attachment page.

    Hi M One,

Has the Woothemes support team been able to help you with this issue?

They just referred me back to plugin author – have a test site live but don’t want to post url here. Can I pm you through your website contact form?

Hey M One, I use Canvas too and I’m having similar problems. Could you try using a different theme and see if you’re seeing the same issue? Remember that the sidebar areas will be different, so you might need to add your custom post widget to a different sidebar to test
