Image Border not working in IE but does in FF

Hey all, Im having an issue at the moment with a big IE/ FF difference

I have a silver border around my image with 7px of padding to create a nice white frame around my images that i post on the blog… This works perfect in Firefox but the padding is a no show in IE leaving me with an image with just a thin silver border around it right against the edge of the image..

I cant seem to figure out what the problem is as the site that i copied the image border code from displayed correctly in both browsers, whereas my implementation of it does not (I edited it but only pixel values and such), which leaves me to think there is a conflicting code somewhere in my work that IE doesnt like…

Any suggestions on where I should start looking? I hate the slight differences between IE and Firefox, so far I’ve been able to accept them but this is something that i need to fix
