I downloaded the Image browser plug in and installed it. I thought I was successful because the image icon appeared on my edit screen, however I did not set the path up correctly……..the read me file stated
“Make sure that the fileupload path and URI are set up correctly.
You can find them under WP Options > Misc. Of course you’ll have
to upload some images before you can browse through them.”
I found the MISC file with the info but i dont know where to set it up….
    Where should I upload to?
any help would be muchly appreciated

    Logon to Admin Panel
Go to Options Tab -> Miscllenous
click Checkbox for Allow Uploads to on

WordPress itself suggests some directory path to set up the upload space, its mostly fine, just check it once and say ok .. you are done..

Now your Admin panel will have an upload tab added using which you can upload your files, once you’ve uploaded using this section, they are now available in the “Insert Images” link which comes when you click on the write Tab.

    Hope this helps
