Hello — I’m having some difficulty with image editing:

#1 The plugin image edit page tells me that many images need a title or alt text and to “fix meta” when I’ve already added the titles, alt and descriptions to all the images in the Media Library but the plugin doesn’t seem to be recognizing the edits I made. This is after clearing history cache and reloading the plugin image edit page. Why is the plugin not recognizing the edits that were made in the Media Library?

#2 Furthermore, when I click on the fix meta button for an individual image, I can confirm the edits I made to the images while editing in the Media Library are indeed there but appear to be outside of the input window and need to be “copied.” Could this just be busywork to “load” the info into the plugin when the meta info already exits? Is the meta info not being saved correctly when editing through the Media Library?

#3 Is there a way to bulk edit the image title (not the name) as the alt
text? Often times the image name was not optimized for SEO before uploading but the edits to the titles have since been optimized.

#4 When I’ve tested the bulk copy for selected images I get a prompt telling me, “We didn’t find any bulk edits to batch copy, congrats!” Does this mean the titles I added in the Media Library are in fact fine? If so, then why is the plugin detecting titles and alts need to be added?

#5 Can the accuracy of the SEO percentage that the plugin describes be truly trusted in the dashboard?

I like the plugin, I’m just trying to get as accurate a reading for SEO with it as possible and want to be sure the info it is telling me is correct.

    Many thanks!

    Hi,

    Thanks for your feedback.

    1. OK let’s be clear on how WordPress is handling that images titles to begin ??
When you edit image titles in the WordPress media library view, WordPress stores this data attached to the image. Then when you add an image in a post for example, the title you added will be added as alt text NOT image title. That’s why titles are missing.
This is something made to, I guess, avoid SEO problem when an image is used in various context in your content.

WP Meta SEO is then detecting those image titles as missing (because there’s on only alternate text) and you can then bulk fix that. Use the dropdown list to select all content then click on the button Image name as image title I guess you have rename all your images on upload ??

    2. It’s too dangerous for SEO to make that automatic and you can use the bulk tool for that.

    3. To cover all possibilities we may add a bulk edit for:

    • Title to alt text
    • Alt text to Title

    4. Make sure you select the right images you want to bulk edit

    5. It’s more SEO statistics than a SEO score ??

    Cheers!
