Is there a way to just turn off the thumbnail caching but keep the other caching features on. I need the other features because of traffic but the thumbnail caching is not behaving well with my image CDN. Thanks!

    Hi @saskso,

    Well, you could:

    • Exclude the \wp-content\uploads\wordpress-popular-posts\ folder from your image CDN plugin, or
    • Have WPP use your stock WordPress thumbnails which AFAIK should be cached by your image CDN plugin (see screenshot below) instead of the ones WPP generates automatically. You may need to register a new thumbnail size though if the available options (coming from your WordPress theme) don’t quite fit the image size you want.

Great! Thank you, I missed the predefined size option. Is it possible to do the pre-defined size thing in the shortcodes too? Do I just specify an already defined thumbnail size and it will use it?

No, unfortunately that feature is only available to the WordPress Popular Posts widget and to the WordPress Popular Posts block.
