Image Caption removed/stripped – prepended to text of Post

When doing automatic new content Posts or creating a manual newsletter from a Post:

If there is an image with caption in a given Post, the caption is removed/stripped from bottom of image and the text from caption is moved to “regular” text area of “content”. This causes problems/confusion in text area. Is there a work around? (Other than not captioning images?)
