    Captions on my images are very faint, often quite hard to read. Is there a way of customising the captions, including making them bolder?

    Thanks!

  • Hi carob555. Can you post a link to your site so we can see the issue? Thanks.

    The captions on the images on this page, say, are faint:

    It may be my eyes, of course!

    Thanks.

    I got a “404 Not Found” on that link.

    So sorry!!

    Many thanks!

    Try adding this in your custom CSS:

    /* change image captions to black text */
    .entry .wp-caption-text {
        color: #000;
    }

    I′ll try it, though I usually have a nervous breakdown at the thought of doing what you suggest!

    Thanks a lot!

    I see you’re running Jetpack which includes a custom CSS module. You could just add it there.

    It′s one of those days! Maybe even one of those months.

    I brushed against the keyboard this afternoon and “something” changed!! The sidebar has got bigger and does not scroll up and down. The content section has got correspondingly smaller. I haven′t got a clue as to what I did.

    Thankfully, the website looks OK..

    I′ve posted fixing whatever′s gone wrong on fiverr – and, assuming I get someone, they can also do what you suggest.

    Many thanks again!!

    I just checked the site link you posted above and don’t see anything wrong with your site. The sidebar appears to be the normal size and scrolls with the content. Are you looking at something different?

    Yes – it′s the WP “work sheets” for the site I′m referring to. (My mind′s gone blank and I don′t remember what the WP “work sheets” are called.)

    If I go to the Home page, say.the Header is there as a featured image and you can′t scroll down for the other things in the sidebar. The Content part is fine – scrolls all the way down- However, the sidebar is also wider than normal, so that the Content section is narrower.

    All that refers to the WP sheets – not the website, which is OK.. I′ve been Googling the problem and I can′t find anything relevant. Yet, you′d think it was simple, as it was caused just by my brushing against the keyboard.

    Many thanks!!!

    Still not seeing what you’re describing. I checked the home page and it scrolls normally. What are the WP “work sheets” used for? Can you see them on the web site?

    I didn′t explain myself very well! I was referring to the wp pages where you put together the website. Where you′ve got Dashboard, Pages, Posts, plugins etc etc down the left-hand side.

    Yhinking about it overnight, I thought I must have accidentally pressed a button at the top, affecting the whole of WP – not just the page I was on. Of course! Zoom- I′m now back on wp to the normal width for sidebar and content.

    But the sidebar still doesn′t scroll.

    Many thanks!!!

    Glad you got it fixed. The sidebar doesn’t scroll; that’s the normal functionality of the admin area. If you don’t have any further questions on this topic please mark it as Resolved. Thanks.
