• Hello!

So, I’ve encountered my first possible conflict working in WP, but I didn’t recently add a new plugin. I’m not sure what to do and was hoping someone with experience could offer some advice/help.

The text below an image block has changed from a smaller font with two sentences that were centered to left aligned and larger font. Worse, when I try to click the text, the entire text box shifts down and I’m unable to alter it (although no font edit fields are available anyway). If I try to select the font box again after it’s relocated downward, the text box continues to shift downward even further.

Here’s a link to what the text used to look like and what I’m trying to get back to:

Thanks for any help you can give me!

  • There was a post about changes coming in WP 5.3, but I don’t see this as one of those listed. https://make.www.ads-software.com/core/2019/09/27/block-editor-theme-related-updates-in-wordpress-5-3/

Your page indicates that your theme is not styling the image block or its caption, so what you see are the default block styles. Those could have changed. It certainly looks like they did. Also, I haven’t seen that the caption would have explicit <em> markup in it. That seems very odd. Did you put the <em> tag in the caption yourself? Do you have a plugin supplying blocks instead of the core blocks?
