When I load an image it says “Image data does not exist. Please re-upload the image.” although the image is there, so when I post using an image I dont have the option of reducuing the size.

I have disabled all plugins yet problem persisits, anyone any ideas.

    My site is https://www.robin-cook.co.uk

    Thanks Robin

    Have you tried:

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

nope that doesnt seem to work, the image is there in media folder you kust get this message when you go to edit to select a smaller version

Have you confirmed that the image and its smaller versions are present in the uploads folder using FTP?

This level of support is really beyond the scope of what we are able to provide in the forum. And you should never, EVER, give out access to your site or hosting control panel to just A.N.Random person on a forum.

If you cannot manage to do yourself, perhaps you need to consider hiring someone to carry out the work for you? At least that way, you can check on their credentials first.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

It might be worth contacting your hosts to see if there are any security restrictions or configurations at their end that might be causing the problem.

I will try, it only occurred yesterday for the first time, I am trying to backtrack to see what I may have done

Do keep in mind that hosts often update a server’s configuration without telling you. So they might have changed something yesterday too. I had a similar problem with my own hosts some months back. A download management plugin that had been working fine suddenly started to have problems. After some digging, I contacted the hosts. Turned out they’d updated their firewall and got a little over-enthusiastic when blocking certain ports. They made some changes at their end and the problem was solved.
