Image Description and Caption fields no longer work

Until recently, our long-time installation of Simple Lightbox displayed text (as a caption) drawn from the Description field for linked images from the Media Library. It is no longer doing that, and is only displaying the linked text. This is important to us, since photographer credit and copyright information is contained in the Description field. As I recall, the Caption field would also be displayed, but we leave that blank.

The problem seems to be associated with the most recent update. We desperately need that functionality back.
