Image edit buttons gone in 4.2

  • What has happened to the image edit buttons? On all previous versions when you hovered over an image in a post, the edit buttons would appear and you could edit the picture.

    Having upgraded to 4.2 those edit buttons have gone completely. If I hover over an image, nothing appears.

    What has happened to the image editing function?

    Same here! and a few of my images reverted back to full size and is throwing off my design and I have no way to go in to edit them back to the smaller sizes.

    Is this a bug, or does 4.2 have a new way to edit? I cannot see any way to edit.

    If I click on an image in the visual editor then I see a set of buttons on top of the image, one of which is to edit it. Just hovering over the image shows nothing. So, make sure you actually click on it.

    Yep – clicking on it does nothing for me. Still no set of buttons.

    MarkRH – are you on the new version 4.2 released today?

    Yes, I am using version 4.2. I do have Tiny MCE Advanced installed which affects the editor. Using a TwentyTwelve child theme which I did update to match the changes with the updated theme.

    I deactivated Tiny MCE Advanced and the image editing still worked. Click on image and the button bar appears.

    nothing on my side is working – must be a conditional situation.

    Hopefully they fix it soon
