Hi, I love the plugin but I’ve noticed that Page Speed Insights started displaying this accessibility issue: “Image elements have?[alt]?attributes that are redundant text. Informative elements should aim for short, descriptive alternative text. Alternative text that is exactly the same as the text adjacent to the link or image is potentially confusing for screen reader users, because the text will be read twice.“

I believe this is because the thumbnail image of the related posts has an alt text that is basically the post title, which is displayed just above the thumbnail, so it’s repetitive. How can this be fixed? Thanks!

I guess the solution would be for the thumbnail image to use the alt text provided in the media library under “Alternative Text” for said image, instead of the blog post title?

Hi Ajay!

I come from Vietnam, I’am using Polylang plugin. I use two languages English and Vietnamese for my website: Nhatminhci.vn.
There is an issue that I can fix: “Image elements have [alt] attributes that are redundant text”. relate to the image of Vietnam flag (there is no faults with US flag).
Please help me to fix it. Thanks!

How are you setting the image Alt for the images in that case? I’m also implementing a new version (currently in GitHub) that also uses the image’s Title if there is no alt set up to take care of this issue.
