Image Error & SSL URL's

    Hi

    When I’m trying to verify a listing I get this error

    Error: ExternalPictureURL server not available (#21916543)
    The server specified by ExternalPictureURL is not responding

    I have a dedicated high spec server and have checked file permissions but our site is forced to use SSL and I’ve read that Ebay won’t allow image uploads if the URL is https?….Is there anyway round this?

    I’m afraid eBay isn’t able to fetch images from https: URLs – which is why WP-Lister automatically converts https: to http: when submitting image URLs to eBay, but in order for this to work, your server needs to be able to serve static URLs like images without SSL as well as with SSL.

    A common setup when enabling site wide SSL is to force-redirect all requests to http: to their https: counterpart – but in this case, you need to exclude at least images (ending with .jpg) from that redirect rule.
