• Hi all,

The theme I am using has a built in language switcher. At the top of the header there is a flag displayed to show which language is currently selected. I want to be able to swap one of the US flag image with a UK flag image but cannot find the img files anywhere within the theme file. If I right click on it though and inspect, is there anyway to work out the location of the image file from the results? Ive run a remote search in Filezilla and come up with nothing relevant. Gotta be there somewhere???

    Cheers

  • This will obviously depend on the theme in question, and may even also depend on how the feature is configured on your site. It could even be that the icon is not an image, but something generated from CSS.

If you could share your site’s URL where these flags can be seen, we could take a look and advice you accordingly.

If you’re unable to share your URL publicly, that’s fine. But, in that case, you’ll need to reach out to your theme’s developer for help with this.

    Standing by.

Hi George, sorry for the late reply but I was waiting for my themes support to reply to me about this. Sounds like you are right and it is CSS based. Their reply below……..

    4. The image file for flags is loaded externally and so cannot be changed. ?(https://ppt1080.b-cdn.net/images/flags.png)

The only way to change this could be to recode a new file, add in CSS to load it from your own site and then recode the theme to adjust this. It’s a lot of work for a small icon.

In which case I’ll probably just live with it.
