• Hi group,

    I’ve toyed a bit with WP1.2 and now installed 1.5 – I won’t look back, that’s for sure!

Anyway, I’ve got approx. 3.000 images taken with mobile phones and digital cameras. I’d like to integrate those images/albums into WP1.5 somehow – it needs to show multiple thumbnails, give the possibility to move to (->next) and (<-prev) image and a bit more – nothing fancy.

What do you guys use? Are there any plugins available? Or should I integrate it otherwise, and create a seperate page for it?

    Thanks in advance,
    Anders

  • Not worth the effort? All you have to do is create a couple new files to grab the WP header/footer, add the php include lines to the mg2 skin you want to use and modify a .css file to match the look…

Besides somebody actually doing the work of integration for you, it doesn’t get much easier, and there is a step by step tutorial for you to follow that I have written as I have helped a few people integrate it successfully now.

well, the biggest problem with mg2 is that you need to keep all of your photos in the same folder. That’s not what you are looking for if you got 1000+ photos.

The guys at https://gallery.menalto.com are working on a integration between the new Gallery called Gallery2, G2 and wordpress. Join the discussion forum and let them know what you are looking for in a plugin and integration. The topic can be found at “Gallery Forum Index ?? G2 Customization”

I will admit it is messy for sure… But why does it matter? It don’ think it matters and the only way you would know that all the files are in one huge honkin’ directory is by looking through a terminal or console window.

All the administration is done through the web admin portion and the actualy physical layout is transparent to both the administrator and the web viewers.

You are able to create the folders/subfolders structure the visitors will see, upload whatever pictures to your structure all through the web admin so interface unless you are in the directory looking around for something, you wouldn’t realize it as the presentation hides this messy part.

IMHO, I guess I find it hard to justify not using what seems to be otherwise a good product for something like that.

    I use ImageManager
    located -> https://www.soderlind.no/wp-plugins

    There ?? ??

(If its a double post, sorry ?? ??

update – host updated new server – enabled GD-lib and now SimplePHP is all happy again!

Sorry, I’ve been very busy. I will do my best to write a complete tutorial by end of friday, the 25th.

This is in regards to IPAP.

Also since there is so much interest in a simple gallery designed FOR wordpress I might take IPAP and continue development with wordpress in mind, as opposed to a standalone …

Who knows, but lets see just wait for the tutorial on friday.

After trying pretty much all plugins available, I decided that for me PHOTOSTACK is the one for my galleries.
I just upload my folder with images and it generates thumbails and navigation-pages. If I can work with it, anybody can! I’m totally stuppid with PHP and other things.
    You can check out: https://www.maismoda.com.br/gallery/?album=collection&page=1
    And the program: https://photostack.org/
I?′m still working on it, but I liked a lot the easy way I can just use FTP to upload my files.

i remember matt from photomatt.net giving out his code for his photoblog which uses Gallery. anyone know where to find it?
