• I’m not sure this is the right place to post this question but I recently found out that my host has a file count limitation. I have tons of images, so this creates a problem. Are there any sites out there that can host images that I can link to directly rather than storing them in WordPress?

I’ve already installed a plugin to reduce the number of thumbnails WordPress creates but that’s not likely going to be enough to solve this issue now or into the future.

Any tips to point me in the right direction are appreciated.

  • The “WP Offload Media Library” plugin can offload your media to Amazon S3, DigitalOcean Spaces, or Google Cloud Storage… with the option to automatically delete the original files from your hosting server. It can bulk-offload existing files as well.

    See: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/amazon-s3-and-cloudfront/

The “Offload, AI & Optimize with Cloudflare Images” plugin will do the same, but with Cloudflare Images and with the added benefit of Cloudflare’s image optimization and CDN. Note that “Cloudflare Images” is a paid product not included in the free Cloudflare plan.

    See: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/cf-images/

Searching for “offload media” in the WordPress plugins directly will give you even more options: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search/offload+media/

Of course, you’ll be paying for these 3rd-party services to store and serve your images… so you might as well want to consider upgrading your current hosting plan or even moving to another host that won’t be counting their fingers every time you upload a file. If you’re willing to get your hands dirty with basic server management, I’ve found even a $5/month cloud VM often outperforms most shared hosting plans.

    Good luck!
