    Good day folks,

We found an issue while uploading an image to one of the pages on the site. According to your plugin, it seems too small to fit the container. The plugin suggests to adjust the image to 720px X 0. We are not sure why is suggesting this sizing.

With the page in question, we created a block using an image that we uploaded from the media. Because of this issue, the image is not displayed properly either.

In advance, thank you for your help and interest.

  • Hello @copiaurbietorbi

    I hope you’re doing well!

The height on your site, looks like it is not defined in the container. You can try to define the height of the block with CSS code.

If you need assistance with CSS code, please share here a link to your page and let us know which block you’re referring too.

    Kind regards,
    Nas

    Hello Nas,

Thank you for getting back to us. Probably was a misundertanding, but we meant that a block was created following the “useful” way wordpress do have now when it comes to create pages for your site, not that we added code to create a block per se.

We created a new block that is already defined by wordpress after having another block with text. We inserted other images in other pages without problem. Why do we need to fix the length of an specific block/container now?

We can share the page but not sure if it is going to be helpful as the image is not displayed at all.

    Hello @copiaurbietorbi

    I trust you’re doing well!

I apologize for the delay in this thread!

We can share the page but not sure if it is going to be helpful as the image is not displayed at all.

Please let me know, is the image is added at the backend? I could not locate any other tags in the page source besides these images that are shown already.

If an image is not added, please add it on a page and let me know when you do.

The Height is suggested to be zero because most likely the container has height:auto or images are loaded via javascript. Please let me know, image is added with Gutenberg or with some other page builder.

We created a new block that is already defined by wordpress after having another block with text. We inserted other images in other pages without problem. Why do we need to fix the length of an specific block/container now?

There is no need to resize the container. If the CSS code of this container has not assigned height, it can be assigned. Visually the container will not be resized.

    Hope this helps!

    Kind regards,
    Nastia

    Hi @copiaurbietorbi

The image in question is the one right below the “Brands we have partnered with” text, containing 9 logotypes? Just making sure.

It seems that this image already has height set to auto but it has “fixed” width set, while its container is “dynamic” – the .wp-block-image takes full width of the content area.

If that’s on purpose (the image width) then it’s fine, you can can actually safely ignore that recommendation. It’s just a suggestion that “doesn’t know your intention”, so to say.

But you can also try something else – you should be able to remove that “fixed size”. In Gutenberg when you click on the image, there’ll be an “Image settings” section in the right panel. In the “Image dimensions” settings you’ll see width and height values and a set of % values right below it (25%, 50%, 575%, 100%) and next to it a “reset” link. So click on “reset” and update post.

If there’s any cache on site, clear it. It should remove the “fixed size” from image and make it “behave” a bit better in context of scalable/responsive block.

    Best regards,
    Adam

    Hello Adam,

Yes, that’s the image and is successfully posted then.

The image is already set to 75% now derived from the initial recommendation of the plugin and perhaps from Gutenberg when we tried to upload the original image size.

We will check the recommendation you provide and see how the image behaves. If everything goes well then I will let you know and close the request for help.

    Hello Nastia,

Our apologies for the delayed response. We made some changes and it seems the image is displayed now, despite the suggestions created by the plugin. We don’t know what created the issue in the first place.

Thank you for your help and support.
