• Hello,

We just changed sermon series and although the newest item in the feed has been fed to iTunes it didn’t bring with it the new sermon series image (so it still showed the one from the week before). So I tried deleting the entire sermon and re-uploading everything and again its there but it doesn’t have the new image. I did see that there was an update to the sermon manager so I downloaded it thinking that maybe would help.

Now looking at the feed validator I am getting:

line 21, column 0: Use of unknown namespace: com-wordpress:feed-additions:1 (201 occurrences)
    <site xmlns=”com-wordpress:feed-additions:1″>79016038</site> <copyright>C …

And a ton of different image issues:

line 42, column 0: style attribute contains potentially dangerous content: max-width (196 occurrences)
line 42, column 0: description should not contain srcset attribute (195 occurrences)
line 42, column 0: description should not contain sizes attribute (195 occurrences)
line 43, column 0: style attribute contains potentially dangerous content: max-width (196 occurrences)
line 43, column 0: content:encoded should not contain srcset attribute (195 occurrences)
line 43, column 0: content:encoded should not contain sizes attribute (195 occurrences)

I looked up the feed again with my phone and now it has our generic logo for the feed instead of sermon images all together. So I feel like I am moving a bit backwards on my efforts. Any idea on this? On either issue?

  • Hey @innatedesign35,

First of all, thank you for your patience. We were out of office, so we were unable to respond.

We have put your feed through the validator and one of the errors are that your cover image does not exist at specified location (/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/WAC-logo-for-itunes.jpg).

Also, only 3 sermons don’t have image specified. The newest one and two more.

And yeah, that’s the default (iTunes) behavior. They show generic logo if there’s no item image.

So, until we add the setting for showing series image if there’s no sermon image, we advise you to set the image for the sermon

Thanks @nikolam for getting back to me.

Yeah, that’s weir that the logo isn’t loading when wordpress was still finding in the media. Odd, I have replaced it. As for the sermons not having images, I have assigned a sermon series image to the series itself and to the all of the sermons. I did have the series image in the first sermon of that new series when I was testing it and it still wasn’t showing up.

I will check my podcast app again but the itunes link I have for our podcast still shows Psalms when we have moved to Our Exodus as a series. I am mostly confused because I just found out that the podcast feed existed and it has been working unattended, so I am confused why all of a sudden things are updating.

    Thanks!

Hello @nikolam. Just curious if you saw my last message. I have been waiting for a response and then I just checked and it says the issue is resolved. Sadly it is not resolved. Just curious if there is anything else I can do to troubleshoot this. Or from your experience if this is something to touch base with itunes?

    Hey @innatedesign35,

We somehow missed your reply, but we’ll check it out tomorrow.

    Thank you for understanding
