Image link incorrectly updating to new site

Looks like it’s not updating the image file name itself properly.

The image it moves over to the child site library looks like this:

https://bowheadsupport.uicalaska.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2018/05/6700ArcticSpur_7674686.jpg

That seems logical: images broadcasted to blogs should have their URLs modified to match the blog’s upload directory, in this case sites/3.

Since it’s awful late, could you perhaps explain to me exactly what is not working properly?

So, when the parent sends the blog off to the child site, it updates the image url to:

https://bowheadsupport.uicalaska.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2018/05/6700ArcticSpur-600×311.jpg

but the image exists here:
https://bowheadsupport.uicalaska.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2018/05/6700ArcticSpur_7674686.jpg

It’s just that random number at the end that’s off. Is that a setting problem?

You could have set your Admin > Broadcast > Misc > Existing attachments settings to “Randomize”.

If you switch it to “Use the existing attachment” then you won’t get that filename randomization.

If things still aren’t working for you, please supply me with a Broadcast debug dump of the post in question.

Ok, so I unchecked that and reposted the post. Now it moved over the media file to this url:

but linked it with this link:

This we solved via e-mail. It was a bug in broadcast that didn’t correctly modify the caption ID in caption shortcodes.

A bug-fixed version of Broadcast will be out shortly.
