Image links break on page 2 – Theme issue with 2.7?

I have an issue where image links that are in a side bar break when going to page 2 (older entries). All text links and the links associated with the images work ok but for whatever reason the page 2 info is added to the image URL.

Sample image URL from page 1: https://blog.truckntow.com/wp-content/themes/truckinV1/images/warehouse-clearance-items.png

Same image URL on page 2: https://blog.truckntow.com/index.php/page/2/wp-content/themes/truckinV1/images/warehouse-clearance-items.png

As you can see, it’s adding index.php/page/2/ to the URL for the image. I found a similar report here on the forum where it looked like the problem might be related to templates and WP version 7.2. How do I fix this?

NOTE: I have tried other templates and they seem to have the same result.
