Image links point to old wordpress.com site after migration using Import tool

I can’t tell you if it’s a problem in migration because, well, you said it was trouble filled.

To get out of this pickle, install the plugin “better search replace”. Search for https://myoldsite.wordpress.com (or whatever) and replace (in all tables) with https://mynewsite.com.

Be sure to back up your database first!

I have followed your suggestion. Results have been mixed, not all links work. I am still trying to find out what the problems are. Some of my posts and pages date back more than a decade when links to media were specified slightly differently.

One old page did not work at all. I added the html code from the wordpress.com site at the bottom – that works.

Disable Jetpack’s optimization feature for images. I recommend asking at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/jetpack/#new-post so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

I turned “Enable site accelerator” off. Now clicking the placeholder links goes to “Page not found”. The old html code did not include the “wp-content/uploads/” that is current usage. However, in posts (at least the ones I checked) the links without that work fine.

Get am image URL and paste it into a new tab. When I do that, I get a “Nothing here”.
