Image names show up in results

  • Hi everyone,

    I installed the plugin and it seems to work fine. My only problem is that next to results showing my search terms in titles and texts there are quite a lot of images and files inlcuding the searchterms. Is there a way not to show search terms included in image and file names and only keep the search results in titles and texts?

    That’s really up to your theme. Relevanssi only provides the results, and it’s your theme that chooses how to display them.

    It’s hard to say how to solve this without seeing what’s going on, I don’t quite get the exact problem from your description.

    thank you for your response. I am not sure I explained well : ) So whatI am trying to do is not to include image names in the search results. Is there a way to only include Headlines and Texts in the search results?

    In case my search.php would give insight into what is going on I am pasting it here but please let me know if I need to provide any additional information.

    You’re not using the_excerpt() to print out the excerpts? In that case Relevanssi has nothing to do with it.

    If the problems you’re having are with the_excerpt(), then Relevanssi may be involved. There are bunch of filters you can use to massage the excerpt content to your liking. Here are examples.
