    Hello,
We have a POSTIMAGE tag in the template the image shows if looking at the message in a browser (eg. Chrome) but not on the mac or iPhone mail client.

When I look at the mail source there seems to be an extra 3D before the = on the image line (suspiciously that is ascii for equals)

    <img width=3D”=
    225″ height=3D”300″ src=3D”
    https://imagebylez.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/0=
    7/img_6149-225×300.jpg” class=3D”attachment-medium size-medium wp-image-712=
    0 wp-post-image” alt=3D””>=20

Strangely, when I look at using chrome the extra 3D isn’t there. It is hard to know if this is an Apple bug or perhaps Chrome cleaning up the HTML.

    Have you seen similar issues?

OK; I checked the spec and realise the 3D is supposed to be there.

However the email definitely does not show the post’s featured image on the inbuilt Mac or iPhone mail viewer. It does get shown on webmail, Windows mail clients and Android mail clients.

    Any ideas?

    Hello @colinrc,

    Thanks for reporting this issue.

We have checked this issue at our end but the results were positive.

Can you let us know the iOS/Mac OS version in which you are facing this issue?

This could be related to your server/CDN configuration. If you’re using Cloudflare, would you mind disabling it and check if it works?

Also, you can check here if your site’s URL is blacklisted on any public blacklist: https://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx. If it is, then you can contact your hosting provider if they have any feedback regarding the same.

Hope this helps you. Let us know if you have any further queries.

    Thank you.

    Hello,
    Thanks for your reply.

I have seen the issue on multiple macs and iPhones – and multiple recipients.

    OSX 12.1
    iOS 15.5

I have checked the same email does show the image using Chrome/Safari as a webmail client, on Windows mail clients and on Android mail clients.

The images are not hosted on a CDN (yet, I will be moving them in the next couple of days if you are checking at a later time).

I checked the blacklist, there is one listed – UCEPROTECTL3, which blacklists all of Bluehost which is the hosting site. Nothing I can do about that and I wouldn’t think that would only impact Apple devices.

I will try to set it up on another blog as well to see if the issue replicates.

    Thanks for your help,
    Colin
