    Hi,

I have some problems with my images, regarding the page speed.

First, on my blog posts (for exemple this one: https://toutpourmasante.fr/soulager-douleur-cervicale/)

    With the thumbnailimage
    – LCP on mobile : 5.2s (LCP is the thumbnail image)
    – LCP on desktop : 1.3s

    Without the image
    – LCP on mobile : 2.3s (LCP is now my h1 title obviously)
    – LCP on desktop : 0.7s

So a big part of the lack of speed is due to the image. If I open the thumbnail image in a new tab, there is .webp added at the end of the file. But I don’t understand why the LCP is so high.

Second, I also have a problem with the product image (woocommerce).
On chrome, if I open the product image in a new tab (for exemple for this product https://toutpourmasante.fr/produit/programme-gainage-sportif), there is no .webp added at the end of the file, while it is the case for any other image of this page. The LCP issue is the same for the product image.

Please note that I started the optimization of my images from scratch, using ‘Destroy all optimization data’, and did the Image Optimization again.

Is there a solution, other than get rid of my images ^^ ?

I sent your the report, the number is: MLNEOBPB

    Regards,

    Alex

So it’s probably a problem with Google Page speed. Because there is no difference between the both.
The only difference is when I get rid of the image.

So it’s probably a problem with Google Page speed.

I don’t think so. The problem with Pagespeed is how and what Pagespeed thinks what is good and what is bad for page experience. Anyway, there is a big missunderstanding about Pagespeed Insight. Pagespeed’s name is basically wrong and should be renamed in “Display Speed”, because Pagespeed doesn’t measure the speed of a page. It measures the time how long it takes to display data in browser window and prioritizes the view above the fold. That means, everything in this content area that loads deferred like lazy load of images is not good for page experience. Pagespeed doesn’t differentiate if deferred display is caused by deferred loading of data (images) with Javascript delay or by CSS. Both causes a delay and this is nonsense.

To get good page experience the view in above the fold area may not have any delay. All content below the fold should(must) have a delay. In your case that means that you have to remove lazy load at the image on top of the page. Pagespeed also wants fixed sizes of images with width and height attribute. A responsive scaling of images is not allowed. This is also nonsense, I know, but this is Pagespeed’s “law” because image scaling causes content shifting.

Btw. your hosting is bad, really bad and you should upgrade in a stronger one.

    Thanks for this clarification.

And thanks for the advice. How can you know that my hosting is bad ? Can it be my CDN (quic.cloud) ?

Can it be my CDN (quic.cloud) ?

Using a cloud isn’t always a good idea, but that should not mean that quic.cloud is bad. A cloud like quic.cloud makes sense if you have a greater number of users from other countries, because a cloud brings content closer to the user. If not your local host is almost faster than a cloud.

My location is next to France on the right side of France and I have a 1 Gbit LAN connection to the internet. With this good connection your page with LiteSpeed and LScache should fly, but it doesn’t fly. With empty browser cache it takes more than 1 second to load the main document, but it should not take longer than 30ms. I don’t know if it is caused by quic.cloud. I only know your page should load faster, very much faster!

OK thanks again for your time.
I will definitely think about it.

Would you tell me what you pay for your hosting monthly? Maybe I can give a recommendation at YOUR hosting provider what would be a better hosting plan?

    5 euros per month.

They have a unique offer.. Before I was using OVH but I had problems so I changed.

Only 5 euros is no good. This must be a massive shared hosting with hundreds of users on 1 server. So it is no wonder that your page doesn’t fly. It’s up to you, but I recommend at least a Virtual Private Server. The monthly costs are higher, but if you want a flying page you must invest a little more than 5 euros. Good VPS already starting at 20 euros, but depends on disk space you need. A SSD HDD is also a MUST with LiteSpeed and LScache.
