• After uploading an image I don’t get the send to editor buttons anymore, but only links I have to copy/paste into the post. Can someone please tell me what to do to get my buttons back again?
    Thanks,
    Hans

  • What version of WordPress?

What’s changed since the last time this worked?

sorry, I am using 2.1. After uploading I used to get options: show thumbnail, show full size or show title, then I could check one of them and then press the send to editor button. Now after uploading I am getting links I have to copy paste to the text? Sorry, hope you understand my problem….

What’s changed since the last time this worked?

New browser? Any new browser extensions? New WordPress plugins? Local firewall?

Hi all. I just experienced a similar issue. But here’s more info: Some of my images correctly display the “Send to Editor” button and others do not. Almost as if something is truncated in the image and is mangling the html that’s being generated, though nothing looks “wrong”, just a missing form button.
I just tried deleting the image and re-uploading.
Interestingly, the Send to Editor button appears when in “Browse” tab but not in “Browse All” tab, which is what I really need since I’m trying to link several images into one post.
I’m using 2.1 with no special upload plugins or anything fishy. I think this is a real bug.
I’m very interested in a solution if anyone knows what’s going on.

Okay, just discovered something. Most images have a Send to Editor button when you first click on the thumbnail in the Browse All tab. The images that are problematic still have an Edit option, which, once clicked, then yields an Insert link. This link now provides a Send to Editor button. This works for me. It’s just funny that for some images it’s hidden in a deeper level.

I am not an expert, but I also discovered something. I remember what I did before….A little while ago I got a stack overflow:500 error and I deleted the prototype.js file from the JS directory. And the stack overflow error was gone.

Now I see a connection between this and the upload problems I am getting now. When I add the prototype.js file again, the uploading is working ok again. I see the thumbnail, show full size option radio buttons again, but I’m also getting the stack overflow error again.

Hopefully someone knows how to solve this issue for me?

Did you make any changes in the upload.php files?

See if you get an errors in Firefox.

I was having a similar problem and it turned out I added a double quote instead of a single quote in upload-js.php.

    hi-
this just started happening on my site. i’m using 2.2. yesterday i entered a post, no problem. last night i tried to and the “send to editor” button was just gone, and i hadn’t changed any code yesterday. the link selection buttons were below the sample image, instead of to the right, and there was no way that i could find to get the image into the editor box. is this a bug? did anyone ever resolve this?

    thanks
    george

s.o.s. s.o.s. i’m dead in the water here.

this just started happening on my site. i’m using 2.2. yesterday i entered a post, no problem. last night i tried to enter a post. i could upload images, but the “send to editor” button was just gone, and i hadn’t changed any code yesterday. there is an edit button, and if i click on it an insert button, (mentioned in another post on this topic), but if i click on the insert button, it reverts back to an edit button. there is no way that i could find to get the image into the editor box, making my blog and site d.o.a.
is this a bug? did anyone ever resolve this? i followed all the earlier suggestions. any suggestions very welcome. and finally — what do i do if no one replies to this? is there a man behind the curtain somewhere? thank you thank you.

This might be a really stupid remark, but sometimes i find i need to scroll down the upload frame a little to see the ‘send to editor’ button.

as suddenly as this started happening, it appears to have stopped. i wasn’t even on the computer in the interim, so i know i didn’t change anything. yet another digital mystery.

We just set up two blogs on separate hosted accounts. When working from my wife’s laptop, no upload button – when working from my desktop, either blog has the button displayed no problem. I’ve gone back and forth assuring all our system prefs, OS & JS updates, and browser settings are the same… Still no luck.
