Image Size

You can use any image sizes in the slider, but for the optimal result you should always use images that have the same size as your slider, this way no images will be cropped.

The way your images look like in the slider is based on the “Slide background image fill” option at the Slider settings -> General tab: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/56-slider-settings-general
The default here is the “fill” option which makes the image as big as it has to be to cover the whole slider. This means that if the slider and image ratios differ, the image will be cropped.

To avoid this behavior you could change the fill mode to “fit” instead (which will result empty spaces around the image if its not the same size as the slider is) or use images which have the same ratio as your slider’s size: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/59-slider-size

Thank you. I find it difficult to have my images be the same size as the slider because customizing my pictures to that size sort of distorts them. I hope that makes sinxe.

so they won’t be cropped.
