Hello Folks, Newbie here, I am using the twenty twelve theme and have a right side bar. Have created a page to use as a front page. Uploaded a photo for the front page. It was to large for the area. The image shows up as a small photo not filling the content area. Went into photo editor (photo shop) and made the image to the size I believe is the size of the content area, about 460 px width and reloaded the image. The theme re sized the image to the exact size of the image I uploaded originally. I tried the photo editor in WP and I can reduce the size but not enlarge. IOWs I get the same size photo in the content area regardless of the size of the jpeg uploaded. Any suggestions appreciated. I did try “actual size” in the WP editor.

    uploads: jpeg 1 2464 X 1632 (original upload size)
jpeg 2 461 X 305 (resized to match content area)
    Thank you
    John Conway

Have you created a child theme for these kinds of modifications?

Wpyogi, Thanks for your quick response. I dont know how to use a child theme. Looks like I have homework. Sounds like a useful option. I did find an answer by, drum roll please, experimenting. Went into the advance settings in the photo editor (WP) and entered the exact px count from the image ie resized smaller image and it fit as planned. I will google child theme. Thanks again
