    Hello,

I’ve just installed this plugin and set up the image size to 1024 x 1024, but when I run a website speed test, the results show that images should be optimized. Could you please tell me what’s the best size for the image settings that won’t affect their quality when displayed?

    Kind regards,

  • Hi @1question,

Have you gone through the image optimisation process, Manually or using Bulk Smush?

Can you post a link to image, which is optimised by Smush and webmaster is complaining about it?

Could you please tell me what’s the best size for the image settings that won’t affect their quality when displayed?

Image size settings doesn’t affect the quality of image, the dimensions should be as per the requirement on your site.

So, if all the images used on your site in various pages and posts is below 1024×1024 then you are good to go with the same settings.

    Cheers

    Thanks Umesh Kumar… I have a couple of questions;

    1. According to GTmetrix, one of my Failing marks is due to: “The following images are resized in HTML or CSS. Serving scaled images could save 705.8KiB (73% reduction). So, how to fix it with Smush?

    2. In the Smush settings I entered 1024 x 1024…. so, does that mean that all the uploaded images should be that size? OR should be smaller?…

    Thanks,

    Hi 1question,

This implies that image holder is smaller than the actual image and it resizes the image via CSS in HTML.
For example there’s 150x150px image holder but the image inside it is 800x800px.
Unfortunately this is not something Smush can take care of because it’s how the theme is coded in that way so you should check with your theme developers about that.

    2. In the Smush settings I entered 1024 x 1024…. so, does that mean that all the uploaded images should be that size? OR should be smaller?…

There’s no need to adjust image to that size yourself, this option will resize the image you upload to that size.

    Cheers,
    Predrag
