I installed this theme to check Smart Slider 3 with it and for me it worked perfectly. (I didn’t have any other plugin activated but Smart Slider 3.)

Do you have JavaScript errors on the page? That could cause the code being there but nothing happening. You can look for JavaScript errors like this: https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/318-chrome

thank you ! i deactivated all my plugins and the one called ‘title toggle’ caused the problem.
