Image slider on Static Homepage

    Hi,

    I’m evaluating the free Poseidon theme for my website. In the demo version, the home page features an image slider that allows the user to click though different images. I’d like to add this to the static home page for my site (the blog posts will be on a separate page), but it’s not clear how to do this. Is this feature available in the free version?

    To add the image slider to the static home page you need to select .. Template for the page that you have select as front page. Refer below image for more detail.

    Dashboard

    Now you need to go to Admin Panel / Appearance / Customize / Theme Options / Post Slider and chose Show Slider on Magazine Homepage

    Thank you for your response. It’s clear now the feature is intended to click through featured images of different blog posts. This is a cool feature, but not what I’m looking for. I have seen some other themes that allow you to use a slider control to click though a series of pre-loaded images. I had assumed the slider feature in Poseidon was the same thing.

    I would like to lift this question again.

    I want to be able to add a slider for the header picture, we don′t need any links or anything else, just a image slider for the header.

    Any suggestions?

    Right now it is only possible to replace the custom header image with a slideshow by creating a child theme and overriding the header.php.

    You can then include any slider plugin you want.

    Since this is only do-able for developers I will try to add support for some popular slider plugin with the next updates.
