Image sorting does not work!

We are sorry for the inconveniences it created but we are just using WP’s sort library and there appears to be a newly introduced bug from WordPress 5.9

Apparently, this one is going to be fixed within WP 5.9.1 version: https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/54902

In the meantime it may worth trying to see if changing the sort order works for you while inserting NextGen Gallery modules into pages.

Just a heads-up that this problem got resolved from our side of things within the NGG 3.23 version.

It’s not rectified for me. I can’t sort a particular gallery in the back end of Nextgen, or add any title or description. I still get a ‘403 Forbidden’ message.

Then I decided to move the existing images to a new gallery, but that didn’t work either. Then I logged in via a different browser, but still get a 403 if I try to do anything with that gallery.

You can’t delete a gallery with that problem either, or any of the images.

Any ideas please?

Okay, since my post above I’ve had to completely re-create the gallery from scratch and upload from scratch too. That worked, but I can’t sort – well, I can in the back end but the front end thumbnails don’t show the images in the sorted order, they’re in any old order.

And I still can’t delete the old album that I’ve abandoned.

Is there any help with this please, Imagely?

I’ve updated to the latest WordPress too (5.9.1), and still what shows in the back end of the site is not what appears in the gallery on the front end.
