Image SRC URLs with WP Domain Mapping

    Hey folks,

    Great plugin, very happy with it. I’m using WPMS and domain mapping however and the widget appears to fall down when I do so. As far as I can see, all variables are generated on the back end but (for complicated and boring reasons) I’m using one domain for the backend and another for the front. This means that on my public-facing domain (cached through Akamai) the source URLs for my images (with your widget) are all running on the admin domain.

    They are served and load fine, but they aren’t cached. Can you patch the plugin to generate the src URL for the images based on the site URL on page load rather than fixing it on the back end?

  • Hi jcpeden,

    There are still a few sticking points with The Events Calendar (current version) and multisite installations, so while we can’t provide a patch right now – though maybe someone in the community can – we are endeavouring to improve this area.

    So, for the time being, all I can really suggest is that you look at developing a custom solution to get you by in the short term – and look out for developments in respect of multisite support in forthcoming releases.

    Barry, this is pertaining to the image widget, not the events cal.

    @jcpeden, I’m using WP core functions for generating the image url. I am surprised you’re not seeing the same problem all over wordpress.

    I have no plans to bypass it but what you can do is override the output template with your own to generate the image yourself.

    Thanks Peter, as I said I think its because the img src URL is being generated from the Dashboard rather than when the image widget loads on the front end rendering it incompatible with WPMS Domain Mapping.

    I’ll checkout the link you mentioned there and see if I can bypass it.
