    Hi

On my webpage I use Vantage theme with Meta slider at the top, I was using quite large images but I have scaled these right ddown and the whole page is loading quicker but I am still having a issue on initial page load, the images are stacking on top of each other vertically, al-be-it for only a second or two while the page loads but it is still not the nicest first impression.

I have read through a few other similar issues but still havent established a solution. I cant post any screen shots right now but will do asap.

Does anyone know what is causing this to happen?

    Thanks

  • Hi @executedgam,

Often you can fix this by setting the width and height attributes on the image so the browser can guess what it’s working with. Something like .

If you have a link to the page I can check it out.

I already have the height and width attributes set to 1080×280. I have been playing around with the settings to try and fix this and I previously had it set to Nivo but I have changed it to R.Slides and it has not completely fixed the issue but it has made it better. Instead of loading every single image in my slider, it only loads the first image slightly off center for that second and then once loaded everything looks normal. Very weird but it is better than it was previously.

Yeah that’s strange. Usually this happens when the browser doesn’t know how to calculate the dimensions of an element. It tries to guess but it doesn’t always do well. I’m glad you found a solution though. Feel free to open a new issue if you’re experiencing more problems.
