  • Hi there,
Currently this is not possible; the plugin automatically creates two subdirectories in the WordPress uploads directory (one for temporary files and the other for permanent storage, with further subdirectories for each post). However, we’ll keep this in mind as a feature request. Is there a particular reason why you’d want to change the image storage location?

Yes, images are served from a subdomain for performance reasons.

Makes sense. So you’d need to be able to set filesystem path and URL for the image location. We’ll probably be adding this as part of an upcoming Pro version of the plugin, which would have much more advanced customization capabilities, such as (possibly) the ability to limit image size and number of images per post, image format and compression, automatic image resizing, etc. We will keep you posted when that becomes available; hoppefully in the not too distant future.

    Hi there,
Just wanted to let you know that the Pro version of this plugin has been released with many more configuration options (including the ability to change the upload directory), and is available for free for a limited time at https://bit.ly/1PR3zUc using coupon code BBPIMGFREE. Hope this helps!

Hi there, thanks for this, getting an error though:

PHP Warning: Missing argument 1 for hm_bbpuip_get_storage_dir(), called in /var/www/mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/image-upload-for-bbpress-pro/bbp-image-upload-pro.php on line 308 and defined in /var/www/mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/image-upload-for-bbpress-pro/bbp-image-upload-pro.php on line 278

I assume that’s why clicking the camera button to upload a file does nothing?

Looks like you found a bug! However, it’s just a warning and it’s only related to statistics computation, so it shouldn’t affect image uploads at all. If it’s not working, can you give me the URL to your bbPress forums so I can troubleshoot for you?

    Hi @hearken,
I need this feauture, but I live in Iran which I cannot buy the pro version. Unfotunately there is no way for people to buy from other countries via the internet ??
Is there a way to get the pro version, please? ??
and if not, is there a way to change the upload folder as wordpress behave for uploading media? for example wp-content/upload/2016/08/image.jpg
