Image Title and Viewing

    I have installed Smush It, uploaded a 705kb photo. In the media library it says the image is 624kb (it doesn’t seem to have compressed it much) but I can resmush to reduce by 9.3%. Also when I uploaded my image it took a while and then for the title put ????? (filename was s4_limestone_072211_25.jpg). Also when I click view from the media library list it displays the title and s4_limestone_072211_25 but not the image. This just doesn’t seem to be working properly.

    Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.

    Is the image smushing by same size if you smush it on the following smush.it site?

    Could you please share me the image that you have refereed in your above question and also share me the screenshot of the issue so that i can troubleshoot it on my test site?

    For screenshots, you can simply provide a link to an image through Google Drive, Dropbox, screencast.com, https://imgur.com/ or other image service. ??

    Sorry, no this was not resolved. I did not have a change to circle back. I will try to get the requested screenshot and post that shortly.

    Here is the screencapture of how it put question marks in the title field.

    Yes it smushed it by the same amount via wordpress and via smushit.com.

    I have tested it on my test site but coudn’t reproduce the issue.

    Are you facing this issue with specific images?
    Are you translating your site?

    This can also be due to plugin/theme conflict.

    To find find out plugin/theme conflict you can just try on your development site using default WordPress theme like Twenty Thirteen and deactivating all other plugins as displayed in the following flowchart to know which theme/plugin is conflicting if any.
