• Hi,

I’d appreciate some help please. I can’t upload images into posts. The error returned is:

“face.png” has failed to upload due to an error
The uploaded file could not be moved to C:\Domains\mydomain.co.za\wwwroot\preowned/wp-content/uploads/2011/08.

Ok, so I know what you’re thinking. Firstly it’s either a folder privileges issues or I just need to set directory in Settings -> Media. Well, it might be one of these, but I’ve tried the standard fixes and no dice. Also, as you can see, the path it cannot upload to is really screwy; the site is hosted on the web and not locally (I tested locally but I have no folder c:/domains)

Firstly, my wp install is in a folder within the root. This is called preowned. But the blog itself runs from the preowned folder and the root only has some html and css which are unrelated to the wp. So this shouldn’t be a problem? In other words everything to do with the wp site is in the sub directory of the web root, but wp-config and the db point to it correct directory. Just like running wp off a multiple domain.

Ok, so I’ve tried changing privileges with no luck. I’ve also put proper urls in ‘Store uploads in this folder’ and ‘Full URL path to files’ and also I’ve unchecked and checked ‘Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders’. I’ve also changed and reset these fields in the database but the error is identical with the folder C:\Domain etc.

So the C:\Domains\mydomain.co.za\wwwroot\ just confuses the hell out of me. I ran a query search in the db and only found 1 entry which has this path. It in _options with id 44, recently_edited, and had some data with that path and a reference to a plugin. I disabled all plugins and recopied files and db from a backup. Also emptied the db table and deleted plugins. Same problem.

I don’t understand where it is pulling this string from? Any ideas what is going on here? Thanks so much for your help. I am guessing I am missing something simple, but am posting new thread for as far as I can tell this is a different issue.
