image upload error

  • This is my fourth WP install and I’m having a heck of a time figuring this one out. This is the first one I’m installinf from scratch w/o having the hosting provider to part of it for me and it is on a different server.

    I can get everything to work so far except I can’t upload photos. Below is what I receive from WP: I’ve already fixed the .htaccess file and set the permissions to 666, but it still isn’t working. Any thoughts?

    The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/virtual/site29/fst/var/www/html/blogname/wp-content.

    I found out the theme had a problem. I reinstalled it and now it is working.

    Could you elaborate? I’m having the exact same issue when I try to upload from the Write Post panel.

    I really can’t elaborate. However, I did reinstall everything and it worked. So, there must have been something I did, but didn’t realize it.

    I’m still clueless as to how it works now. My default now is to have a testing site running on my computer before I post the the live server.
