Image Upload Error: An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.

  • Have disabled all plugins, still have error. Have reinstalled WP, still have error. Photos DO still upload into the media library, but are not inserting into the post from the Editor when pulled from previously uploaded photos {in media library} and also not pulling from a direct upload. If I insert from a URL, it uploads to the post. What’s the deal???

    Can you login to your site? How did you update WordPress – manually or through the dashboard updater?

    Yes, I’m able to login…I updated it via the updater – should I manually reinstall via my cpanel? Will that remove the blog completely? It’s a friend’s blog….and I don’t want to have to remove unless I totally have to.

    Well, you may reinstall WordPress manually from a freshly downloaded copy except wp-content. Do NOT overwrite files/ folders but delete them before reinstalling. Most of the problems arise because of incomplete/ old files that are not updated properly during automatic updates.

    Will that remove the blog completely?

    No. Need not do that or worry about losing anything as your data is saved in your database. However, backup the site including database so that you can restore in case anything goes wrong.
