• Hello all! I have just downloaded and installed WP 2.0 running this WP 2.0 on my own server that runs Linux (OES-Linux from Novell). So, i try my first blog post and use the inline upload file. Then i goto the blog site and my post appears but not the image. The image file is in the uploads directory. What does WP 2.0 require to display images (ie GD or image magick)? I have GD 2 installed and working. Thanks for any help.

OK, now i am confused! Does WP 2.0 need a plugin to display the images? All the plugins i have seen on this site are for WP 1.5.

All the blogs display images correctly. You don’t need plugin for that.

Umm, am i trying to upload an image correctly then? In the wp-admin, i goto “write”, give it a title and type in some text. Then, below that i see a “upload” tab with “browse” next to it. I click “browse” and select the pic i want to place on the blog. Then type a title for the image. I then click “upload” and the image appears in the “upload” box. At this point, i could drag the image to the text box where i have typed in the post text or do i click on “publish”. I have tried both and nothing but the text i type shows up. Link if you would like to see for yourself.

Erm…. I probably need to search more/post this elsewhere, but having got v 2.0 “working” otherwise, I now don’t have a single image displaying — including any images from the themes. See https://www.royzemi.com/

I’m probably being thick again, but I’ve tested it on several client machines and they’re all the same. The URLs look fine in the Source code. What could it be!?!?

I just figured out my problem ?? After i click upload and the image shows up, click the image again and more options become available, like send to editor, which i remember seeing before in image upload problems. Now it will post and display images.
