Image Upload not working

Hi,
I have read your FAQs but still I am not able to upload cover- oder profile images. The image appears in the popup to be resized, but then the window is frozen. You can only press cancel to go it away. I don′t get any errors either. I don′t have strange plugins activated and it doesn′t even work with the 2014 standard wp theme.
I have deactivated the cover photo… but it seems that the user has to have to profile photo by default. So it should work.

GD PHP Library installed
mod_security disabledI have seen once an error in my console, though, that an empty string has been passed (jquery).
Nothing in the error.log of my ISP.
