Image upload not working when Yoast is activated

Thank you for reaching out and using Yoast SEO.

Yoast SEO does add 2 user roles: SEO editor & SEO manager but does not make changes to the default roles WordPress provide, such as the subscriber role.

I see that you also created a topic on “One User Avatar” plugin’ forums – thanks! We’re unfamiliar with the plugin and haven’t heard of a conflict before – but as we don’t touch the subscriber role, I suspect it’s on their end.

Again, it is working when Yoast is disabled, so any hint or direction would be great. The works via input form, could it be something related to the form?

Thank you for your reply.

I can’t say whether it’s related to the form or not – we’re not familiar with how the plugin works and extends/modifies default roles. I’d wait for an answer on the other forums of the specific plugin.

I understand that, however the page works when yoast is disabled, so there is some responsibility on Yoast’s part, isn’t it?
In addition, the author of the other plugin is not really active and I would be very happy about support.
Any direction or hint, I want to do more than just wait for the other author

We are having the exact same issue between One User Avatar, Yoast SEO, and Memberpress.

I installed One User Avatar(v2.3.9 – latest) on a local test site, together with Yoast SEO 19.7.1 (latest). Created a subscriber account on the testing site and enabled subscribers can upload their avatar under Avatars → Settings.

Logged in as the subscriber account and went to /wp-admin/profile.php on that account – I was able to upload an avatar and save it.

What other step(s) is not possible on your site so I can try to replicate the issue? As far as I know, Yoast SEO does not alter anything specific to the media library/upload capabilities.
