I am currently using the below versions of WordPress and BBPress:
    BBPress version 2.5.12
Image Upload for BBPress Plugin version 1.1.14
    WP version 4.8

My website is myfertilityfocus.com (the forum is for members only).

When I originally installed the ‘Image Upload for BBPress’ plugin, there was an option for setting the dimensions of the image that was being uploaded to a post. Now this seems to have disappeared. If a member wants to post an image, there is no way for them to set the dimensions. Do you know what has happened here? Images are ending up way too big on members’ posts!

  • I’m afraid I don’t know the answer but can add the same thing happened to me after I applied a BBpress plugin (V2.5.13) upgrade. I resize the images before uploading them.

Glad to know I’m not the only one. It’s very frustrating as I’m not sure my forum members will want to be bothered resizing images before uploading (if in fact they even know how to resize their images).

An answer to this question would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi there,
My apologies for the delayed reply. I’ve investigated and it appears that the image dimensions fields were being hidden by some CSS code that I think was originally intended to hide the caption field in the upload dialog, which since seems to have been removed. The latest update to our plugin (1.1.15) disables that CSS code and should cause the dimensions fields to re-appear (you may need to do a hard refresh or clear your browser’s cache after the update). You should also be able to resize uploaded images by dragging the handles (squares) at the corners of the image in the forum post editor.

Please note that the dimensions fields and resizing handles won’t change the size (resolution) of the uploaded image file; they’ll only add code to the image tag in the forum post HTML to try to alter the display size. If you want to be able to change the size of the image file itself, please check out the pro version of the plugin.

Hi, the problem is solved. It was due to e bad internet connection.

I deleted your account. Thnx for your response.

    Grz Rolf
