image upload size issue

How are you adding this image?

Hi Andrew. I am using the upload to media library interface in WordPress.

I didn’t realise the theme has a background footer option. Can you double-check this option isn’t coming from a plugin?

In this case your CSS here:

background-image : url(‘https://www.newvillagehall.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/newvillagehall_icon.png’);

Should be changed to reflect the other background image that you want:

background-image : url('/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/newvillagehall_icon1-2.png');

Oh I see. Is the problem that you’re using a different ratio of image than what you had before?

I think so, as the ratio combined with the ‘background-size’ style will change the way it is displayed

I just checked it and the ratio is identical. Oddly I uploaded the same image to another WP server and linked to it, and it did the same. But if I link to the old image on the other server it displays full width?

Are you sure they’re updated on your site? The images are still showing as different ratios when I check:

I uploaded via FTP instead, The image does not show up in the media library, but can be linked to, however it is not full width in the footer. I have reverted to the image on the other server that works for now. Can’t think what is happening. Best Nick

Think it’s sorted. I cropped the image height for a test and it displays full width. So Yes its the proportions. I will change the height of the footer is CSS and I think it will work. I guess its the’ initial width part of css. Will post again when proved. Best Nick.
