• Since the last update, I haven’t been able to use the image upload function to add images to blog posts. Instead I get an error message saying

    Unable to create directory /nfs/c01/h02/mnt/32895/domains/mysite.com/html/wp-content/uploads/2012/08.

(I don’t understand the “/nfs/c01/h02/mnt/32895” part of the link. The actual url of images uploaded to my site is —

    https://www.mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/image.jpg

    — but whatever.)

So I cannot upload images from the WordPress admin page. I have to go to my web host and upload images using their file management system and then enter the html code to display the image by hand, and it’s a pain.

  • It’s possible that your host updated something, and changed the rules for file permissions. Or the file permissions were changed somehow.

Try to change the folder permission

    /nfs/c01/h02/mnt/32895/domains/mysite.com/html/wp-content/uploads/

    and also the sub folders

    /nfs/c01/h02/mnt/32895/domains/mysite.com/html/wp-content/uploads/2012/
    /nfs/c01/h02/mnt/32895/domains/mysite.com/html/wp-content/uploads/2012/08

to 777, or 755 (if your site uses suPHP).
