image uploader crashing firefox

  • Hi everybody
    I am a very new newbie and struggling with uploading images so would be very gratefull of any “un-technical” help.
    Every thing was working fine but just recently, every time I press the image uploader button Firefox crashes – can any one offer any insight as to what I may have done wrong?
    I have 3 sites on wordpress that I am currently developing and the problem is with them all:

    mens-designer-tops.co.uk
    agencies-rochdale-property.co.uk

  • If you have the Google Gears Firefox extension, disable it. It’s not actually compatible with the latest version of Firefox.

    I don’t have Firefox Gears installed and Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome are crashing when uploading image to WordPress. Tried clearing cache, cookies, upgrading, nothing works. What is the problem. It worked fine two days ago!! Any suggestions?

    I am having similar issues. Was on FF 3.5.2 and tried a Javascript extension that was recommended in Mozilla support. Ended up having to do a complete system restore. Have tried upgrading to FF 3.6. This looks like a pretty serious issue. Firefox 3.6 does not work with gears (yet) so don’t think that’s it .

    Any help appreciated. I can’t imagine having to revert to IE. Oh dear. That would be a real problem.

    PS – It doesn’t crash Firefox for me, it just says Error Connecting to Database when I attempt to upload an image. Same function works fine in IE.

    Disable your plugins and try again, if it’s crashing all your browsers, then it’s either a PC issue or WP…

    If it’s not the PC, then it’s usually a theme or plugin issue, the latter being the most common..
