• Dear all,

In actual I am using version 3.8.4 but this option is not in the Version Drop down.

Anyways, My image uploader was working fine until this morning, but now I am getting the infamous error message as described below:

“Abstract_Blue-Plum_vmworld2014.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error
The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads.

After googling anf crawling the support site, I saw that plenty of other people have faced the same issue, and so I went ahead and tried changing the file permissions to the wp-content and wp-content/uploads folder to 777 but no luck. I am using dedicated service from bluehost.com and also contacted them, but they say nothing has changed from my end. Please help me!

  • Hi maryamzafar,

Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK. [recopied from esmi]

There may also be a problem with an upload limit and you may want to try changing that limit to accommodate your newer files

Thank you very much for your reply. I had tried changing file permissions to those you mentioned above but it didn’t work. Could you please help me in changing the upload limits? How do I achieve that?
    Thanks in advance.

Hmm…try following the guide here to see if it helps
